Triumphant Return

I'm baaaaaaaack!  And guess what?  I don't have to host a debate tournament for another, like 350 days.  It's AWESOME.

I didn't manage to get pics of everything I wore (missing my boring pinstripe suit on Friday night and my cute leopard dress on Saturday) but here are a few at least:

Thursday (my husband told me I looked like Amy Adams--you know, OSCAR NOMINATED Amy Adams?  But I think it's just the photo angle.)

Nanette Lepore Dress
Theory Cashmere Cardigan
Dansko Loafers
J Crew Star Necklace

Sunday (oh my very grainy...this was a crop of a cell phone picture):

Kate Spade Jada Dress
Sophie Cashmere Cardigan
Ugg Josette Boots
Jones New York Scarf

Monday:

J Crew Maggie Jacket
(You can't see my navy J Crew ponte dress or my vintage trophy pin but I promise I'm dressed thematically.)

Thursday (a few snow days intervened to let me catch up on my sleep, which was awesome.  A+, polar vortex of doom.):

J Crew Factory Sequin Bow Cardigan
J Crew Peter Pan Collar Dress
Ugg Josette Boots (switched out when I got to work)
Kate Spade Bow Watch

Here are the shoes I switched into (Kate Spade flannel flats):

And now more Amy Adams:

  1. Congratulations on your debate. Is that a big trophy I see in the picture? You look super cute in all of those pictures. Your shoes are divine. That Nanette Lepore dress rocks!

    1. Yes--this is the tournament we host every year, so the table is full of the trophies we give out! (We travel to about 6 tournaments per semester that other schools host.) Little cups on the side are the individual speaker awards, bigger awards are the team trophies for quarterfinals, semifinals, finalists, and the big champagne coolers are for the winners. The largest trophy in the back (so hard to see) is our traveling trophy for the winner of the varsity division--it's called the John Jay Pierpont Cup and allegedly is from the estate of John Jay Pierpont who got it from his grandfather, John Jay (the third and most obscure author of the Federalist Papers) (I don't know whether any of that is true or not but it does look SUPER old). The base is engraved with the names of the teams who have won it since the tournament started in 1958.

  2. Your posts make me fall in love with Kate Spade more and more. I should stop tempting myself because I certainly can't afford it.

I love the debate team picture. It has that school club yearbook picture quality to it, except you all look so sharp and polished.

I can totally see the Amy Adams. Get it, girl! haha Right now I'm obsessed with Downton Abbey and trying to infuse my looks with a bit of that drama and luxury.

    1. Hi Jenni--I am just fine, we are swamped with trying to get our house ready to put on the market plus a few national debate tournaments. I will hopefully have a post in a few days. Thanks for thinking of me! I am still reading along and enjoying your blog!
